Phantasmagoric Poetry

Ghostly and ghastly and gorgeous. In this workshop, we’ll be taking a delve into poetry’s most haunting
aspects. We will look at the collision of spirits in a figurative and literal way in poetics. We’ll read essays,
have guided discussion, as well as read and write poems. We’ll read works by Solmaz Sharif, Dorothea
Lasky, Abigail Deutsch, Kaveh Akbar, Kamran Javadizadeh, among others.

A Writing Group meeting at different locations in Berlin to write together and evolve our writing projects, taking prompts from the cityscape and its people. This format combines a generative writing workshop and a support group for writers, exchanging skills and knowledge and much needed encouragement. Leaving the desk and changing perspective helps to unblock and reinvigorate your practice; plus you’ll connect with other writers and further your practice through group feedback and discussion. Playground will be a recurring format (Language: English – other languages very welcome if conversation is possible in English)
