We are lucky to live in a fascinating city, and in this class we’ll use Berlin to generate new poems inspired by the city’s history, its public spaces and its surprises. Meeting in a different location each week, we’ll immerse ourselves in the particularities of Berlin landscapes and memorials. We’ll spend the first hour or so of each class exploring and writing, and the second hour workshopping your poems. There’s no imperative to write directly about Berlin, though you certainly may; the idea is to let the city’s energies infect your own while joining like-minded comrades for some poetic adventures.
