Curious about the process of getting your book traditionally published? Want to know more about the role of literary agents, book editors, and scouts? Wondering how a book evolves from a manuscript to a novel on the shelves?

Regardless of where you are in your writing process, this webinar with former literary agent, Jaida Temperly offers a behind-the-scenes look at the traditional book publishing process. Topics of discussion will include:

-The lifecycle of a book, from completed manuscript to published on the shelves

-An introduction to key industry players such as literary agents and book editors

-An overview of the agent querying process

-Pitching events with agents and editors

-The editorial timeline and process with your book editor

-Introduction to publishing subrights: film, audio, multimedia rights, etc.

-Common industry terminology

-Useful resources and how to use them

While every writer has their own unique journey to publication, this class aims to provide a broad overview of the industry to demystify the publication process, and address frequently asked questions and misconceptions.

Participants will leave with a clear roadmap of the process, so they can start approaching agents as soon as they finish their manuscript.

This class is open to anyone who is interested in or is curious about pursuing traditional publishing, regardless of whether they have a completed manuscript or not.
