How do you become the writer you want to be? This seven-week writing workshop will arm you with all the tools necessary to get your ideas out of your head and onto the page. The first half of the course will concentrate on the craft of fiction, using examples from contemporary authors as a jumping off point for deep discussions and related assignments. With plenty of generative exercises, you’ll come away with a notebook (or hard drive!) full of ideas, and a new understanding of the techniques you can use to express the stories you need to tell.
In the second half, you’ll have the opportunity to workshop your own fiction, gaining invaluable feedback on your stories, as well as learning how to sharpen your own editorial eye. Graduates from Jane’s class have gone on to attend funded MFAs at Iowa and Brown, publish in journals such as Electric Literature, Tin House and The New Yorker, sign with top-tier agents, and publish with major publishing houses—so if you want to figure out where to take your writing next, she can help you get there. However, the supportive environment is equally suited to those who have never written before, so if you’re afraid of making that first step, let her hold your hand!
you can now also email Jane directly at email@example.com to sign up!
