SASKYA JAIN is a writer based in New Delhi and Berlin. She holds an MFA in Fiction from Boston University. Her first novel, Fire Under Ash, was published by Random House India in 2014 and shortlisted for the Shakti Bhatt Prize in 2015. Her second novel is forthcoming later this year with Simon & Schuster India. Her short stories and essays have appeared in numerous journals in the UK, USA, India and Germany, including Intelligent Life, The Economist, DIE ZEIT and The Baffler. She has taught creative writing and literature courses at Hong Kong University and Grinnell College, and her most recent writing residency was at Hedgebrook on Whidbey Island.
