Are you looking for a dependable, empathetic, and inspiring space to get your story out of your head and onto the page?
This supportive, 4-week workshop would provide a regular space for writers, poets, songwriters and screenwriters working on their first draft manuscript (any form/ genre, and any stage of the manuscript). Based on the workshop methodology I used to complete my own first draft autofictional novel, “Your Body of Water” (Repeater Books 2025), each week is structured around exploring a key text together as inspiration, (ranging from Audre Lorde to Carmen Maria Machado), a prompted writing exercise, and weekly presentations of works–in-progress for constructive, focused feedback.

In between sessions, each writer would then continue to craft their manuscript, energised and informed by the weekly feedback. During the four weeks of the process, manuscripts will start to flow more fluidly, and move ahead with more confidence and clarity. Ideally, participants will end the course with at least 10,000 polished words of their manuscript.
Week One: Who’s telling the story? Getting out of your own way to find your voice.
Week Two: Why are you telling this story? Getting to the heart of what prompted you to write this.
Week Three: How are you telling this story? Defining your stylistic and theoretical methods.
Week Four: Who do you want to read this? The importance of understanding your audience(s).
Week Five: What do you want to achieve with this? Defining your future intentions.
Siouxzi Connor is an Australian-born writer and experimental filmmaker, based in Berlin. She has previously taught “On the Nature of Writing” for The Reader. Her new book, ‘Your Body of Water’, was published by Repeater Books in June 2025 and launched at Hopscotch Books Berlin and San Serriffe Amsterdam with an accompanying scent installation. Siouxzi’s first book was published by Repeater Books in 2017, titled ‘Little Houses, Big Forests (desire is no light thing)’, and was launched with an accompanying film and artworks, titled ‘In the dark, dark room’. She is also a former research fellow of the ICI.
