Come hear from Oriana Leckert, Kickstarter’s Senior Journalism Outreach Lead, who will share tips, tricks, and strategies behind successful media crowdfunding campaigns!

You’ll learn about the history of Kickstarter journalism, the key elements that make up a successful campaign, from concept to fulfillment, plus examples of different creative and logistical approaches by indie literary creators—from Berlin and beyond!

Oriana Leckert has spent more than a decade working in the media. She is currently the Senior Journalism Outreach Lead at Kickstarter, where she helps people bring a broad range of print, digital, and audio projects to life. She’s written and edited for a variety of outlets, including Vice, MTV News, Slate, Hyperallergic, Gothamist, Atlas Obscura, Pitchfork, and The Believer. Her first book, Brooklyn Spaces: 50 Hubs of Culture and Creativity, grew out of a multi-year project chronicling the rise and fall of under-the-radar creative places across New York City.
